A Cahya Legawa's Les pèlerins au-dessus des nuages

On this auspicious day of Vesak
We celebrate the Buddha’s birth and death
And his enlightenment sublime and meek
That showed us how to end the cycle of breath
He taught us of the four noble truths
That all life is suffering and impermanent
And of the eightfold path that leads to ruth
The way to cease desire and attachment
He urged us to practice compassion and kindness
To all sentient beings in the world
And to cultivate a mind of mindfulness
That sees reality as it is unfurled
So let us honor him with gratitude and joy
And follow his example of wisdom and peace
And may we all attain the blissful state of nirvana
Where all suffering and delusion cease
