A Cahya Legawa's Les pèlerins au-dessus des nuages

She climbed the stairs of stone and light
To reach the goddess of sun and rain
She carried a basket of fruits and flowers
To offer as a token of her pain
She prayed for the end of drought and famine
That plagued her village for so long
She begged for mercy and compassion
And hoped the goddess would hear her song
She said, "O goddess of sun and rain P
lease bless us with your grace
We need your warmth and water
To make this land a better place
We have suffered much from hunger and thirst
We have lost our crops and cattle
We have buried our elders and children
We have fought a hopeless battle
Please end this curse that haunts us
Please restore our hope and joy
Please send us rain and sunshine
Please help us heal and grow"
She waited for a sign or answer
But none came from above
She felt a tear roll down her cheek
And wondered if the goddess knew of love
She turned to leave the temple
But then she heard a sound
A gentle rumble in the sky
A drop of water on the ground
She looked up and saw a rainbow
A bridge of colors bright
She smiled and thanked the goddess
For hearing her plight
She ran down the stairs of stone and light
To share the news with her village
She sang a song of gratitude
And dreamed of a better future.
